Casual conversion changes are good news for employers

New casual conversion laws start in just a few weeks, and they're going to be much easier for employers to manage, according to a workplace lawyer.

Under the new provisions, which come into effect on 26 August, the onus is on employees to request conversion, Kingston Reid partner Christa Lenard tells an HR Daily Premium webcast.

Compared to the current system, where employers must offer permanent conversion to regular and systematic casuals within 21 days of their 12-month anniversary, the changes are "administratively much better for employers", she says...
