Workplace disagreements and behaviours caused an employee "some stress", but they didn't significantly contribute to his psychological ailment, a tribunal has ruled.
In early 2020, the NBN Co project manager sought workers' compensation for depression, claiming several managers had bullied him over a five-year period.
After Comcare denied liability on the basis that his employment didn't significantly contribute to his condition, he took his case to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
The employee provided evidence of about 220 incidents between October 2015 and June 2019, 95 of which were related to his supervisor insulting him by saying he smelt "like a wet dog" and had a "look what the cat dragged in" appearance...
