Employers hamstrung by disability data: "we can't fix what we don't understand"

Employers are largely in the dark about the disability status of their workforce, highlighting a need for "safe and respectful" data collection.

Commenting on the Disability Data at Work report released today, by Diversity Council Australia and Australian Disability Network, chief executive of the latter Corene Strauss says "the value of accurately and safely collecting disability data in the workplace cannot be underestimated".

"Accurate data collection is essential for understanding the current state of play and empowers organisations to identify any barriers that exist which need to be rectified. It allows organisations to track their progress in addressing the disability employment gap and building a disability inclusive workplace...
