Gen-AI tools are able to "turbocharge" workplace relations issues, making it imperative for employers to maintain consistent and compliant policies and practices, according to a lawyer.
Citation Legal partner Michal Roucek says that while AI tools can automate repetitive processes and make work more efficient, which is "great news for everybody", it can also "automate grievances and other issues".
"Depending on how you view the world, it's probably evened the playing field a little bit," Roucek tells HR Daily. Generally speaking, "the syntax of employment law isn't something that comes naturally to employees" – but "it kind of does now".
According to Citation Group's inaugural Workforce Pulse report, employees are increasingly using AI tools to understand workplace rights and generate formal grievances, often with a level of sophistication that previously required legal or HR support.
