An investigation isn't always the best way to respond to a workplace complaint or issue, and sometimes it will make the matter worse, a conflict specialist says.
It's not uncommon for workplace investigations to be "overused" when issues arise, according to The Zalt Group director Zandy Fell.
Sometimes this is because an employee requests one; sometimes other options just aren't considered when the word "complaint" is used, she explains in a new HR Daily Premium Q&A.
