Employers have 12 months to consider which gender equality targets they are committed to improving, or face being 'named and shamed' for their inaction, after Parliament passed amendments to the Workplace Gender Equality Act. As previously reported, the gender equality legislation will require Australian organisations with 500 or more employees to select gender equality targets, and then to achieve or make progress on those targets within three years.
