No leniency for self-represented worker who misused AI

An appeal bench has delivered a scathing rebuke of a worker who relied too heavily on AI tools when filing his application and emailing the Fair Work Commission.

The worker is one of many who now "submit AI prepared documents such as applications, communications, submissions and witness statements without revision," the bench said.

"There is a problem with parties taking this approach, generative AI is merely a tool. It is not capable of making the type of decisions required to effectively conduct litigation. Human judgment is called for."
