Persistent wellbeing crisis requires more support for leaders

Employees' mental health scores are aligned with how "humane" they perceive their manager to be, and how well they think managers maintain their own work-life balance, according to wellbeing specialists.

The most recent Telus Mental Health Index (MHI), comprising data collected in the first quarter of 2026, reveals a persistent three-year plateau in worker mental health.

One of the key trends supported by the figures is managers' need for support, says Telus Health managing director Jamie MacLennan.
