Social class a key factor in inclusion; Neurodivergence and flexible work

Australian employers aren't contemplating class as an issue they should address, partly because they continue to think Australia doesn't have a class issue, a DEI expert says. Meanwhile, new research highlights the importance of flexible work for neurodivergent employees.

Diversity Council Australia CEO Lisa Annese says this doesn't reflect reality, and that it only takes a few questions for people to identify their social class. But even among DCA's 1,400 members, class is not an area that most are looking at – at least, "not yet".

Annese notes that social class is a broad concept that relates to a person's position in a hierarchy, one that's informed by both movable and immovable components...
