AI tools should overall be embraced in the workplace, but it's wise for employers to be clear on where the "human value" lies in their work, and adopt some guiding principles to avoid costly and damaging mistakes, technology experts say.
According to Robert Walters' Tech and Transformation salary guide, 94% of technology employers are allowing or encouraging AI use in the workplace, while more than a third of employees say it helps with parts of their job.
At a recent event to launch the report, a panel of speakers echoed the recommendations of a Parliamentary inquiry into AI at work (reported here in HR Daily), highlighting the importance of keeping a human 'in the loop' when using AI.
AI shouldn't become an unsupervised shortcut, said Seek senior economist Blair Chapman.
