The evolution of the chief people officer role in the next five-to-10 years will see a move away from "designing HR for HR", towards "really designing for where the business is at", a CPO turned CEO says.
According to Resmed ANZ former CEO Nupur Bhushan, who has also held HR and board roles in her career, HR professionals are trained to come up with 'best in class' HR frameworks and models, but these can end up serving HR, rather than the broader business.
Speaking on a panel hosted by recruitment specialists Peoplecorp and Moir Group, Bhushan said HR leaders need to look at "all the simple things we need to do, and what's best in class out there", but also to ask: "Is the best in class really applicable to the organisation I work at? Does the organisation need it right away – or even in the longer term...
