Aborted background check wasn't discrimination

An unsuccessful job applicant has failed to prove he suffered discrimination during a recruitment process due to an "unreliable" background check.

The Egyptian engineer took action against HR platform Equifax Australasia Workforce Solutions, claiming that he missed out on a job opportunity because its subsidiary Fit2Work failed to verify his qualifications.

This, he argued, amounted to direct discrimination under Victoria's Equal Opportunity Act...
