How an employer could claim a casual worker's employment was terminated "professionally", while also contending he wasn't dismissed, was a "mystery", according to the Fair Work Commission.
The Unite Resourcing labour hire casual, employed since October last year, received an email in November saying he was no longer required to return to the site where he'd been working.
When he responded, "No [dramas], see you in court", he was advised to review his contract. The reply also said: "You will be paid for all work completed and based on feedback I have received you will not be engaged via Unite Resourcing for any future work"...
