Changing WFH requirements didn't force resignation

Raising concerns about a manager's ability to work effectively while at home "played a role" in her decision to quit, but it wasn't a constructive dismissal, the Fair Work Commission has ruled.

The national sales manager for consumer goods supplier Korbond had been informally allowed to work from home three days per week, despite her employment contract stipulating the Sydney office as her workplace.

In November last year, the employer expressed concerns about being unable to contact the manager when she was working from home and directed her to reduce her remote days to two per week.

Around the same time, a further issue arose with one of the employer's major clients, and when dealing with this, it discovered the manager hadn't been travelling to meet key client contacts...
