"Conscious unbossing" could solve the disengagement crisis

The concept of "conscious unbossing" isn't new, but the term's traction might just give a globally disengaged workforce a new lease of life, a leadership specialist says.

Overly hierarchical structures with "command and control" leadership have long been considered problematic for a wide range of reasons, but it's still the way most organisations operate, says Nextgenify founder and work futurist Cherie Mylordis.

"We've had so much progress in the world of work... there are so many things that have changed over the last 100 years or so, but what I find fascinating is that the way we organise people and work actually hasn't changed over 100 years.
