Culture of swearing didn't excuse aggressive, confrontational language

Swearing might have been part of an employer's "everyday work culture", but a director's aggressive and confrontational language was unacceptable, the Fair Work Commission has ruled in a constructive dismissal dispute.

Commissioner Susie Allison found an employee was left with no real choice but to resign, although she accepted that was not the director's intention.

The DMG Building & Electrical Services electrician claimed the director's "abusive and bullying behaviour" made him "fear for his safety", and forced him to quit in November last year...
