A rotating panel of volunteer staff has become a much-tapped resource for devising, testing, implementing and evaluating a range of initiatives at Deloitte Australia, its chief people and purpose officer says.
Deloitte's "people panel" was formed in 2021, when the "big shift" facing business and society was the changing nature of work, and people wanted and expected to have a voice on issues that were important to them, Pip Dexter tells HR Daily.
"We had seen a decline in some of our engagement levels... and so this was a very intentional action to engage people in co-creating policies and practices within our business," Dexter says.
Since then, more than 3,000 of Deloitte's 13,000-odd staff (including 1,300 just in the past year) have participated in the people panel, which helps HR and other business units to analyse challenges, co-design, test and evaluate solutions, and shape strategy and culture...
