Adopting a new approach to conflict management, and embedding alternative dispute resolution practices in everyday leadership, has helped an employer reduce its formal grievances by almost half, its HR leader says.
Since introducing the framework about a year ago, the number of formal grievances being raised by Justice Health NSW employees has reduced by 45%, director of people and culture Tracy Varga tells HR Daily.
At the NSW Government agency – which employs about 2,000 people, mostly in patient-facing roles – employees' confidence in grievance resolution has also risen to 67% – 4% higher than the state average.
