Employee with "very dim view" of manager sacked for abusive texts

It was fair to sack a worker who created a psychosocial safety risk by sending threatening and belittling texts after hours to his manager, the Fair Work Commission has ruled.

"Not only was the conduct damaging to the CBA's interests by exposing it to loss of productivity and liability in relation to psychosocial risk, it made untenable any continuing work proximity as between [the manager] and [the employee]," Commissioner Sarah McKinnon said.

The customer engagement specialist had worked for CBA for 10 months before he was sacked in March this year...
