Employer couldn't resile from "final payment" message

After sending an employee a text message about her "final payment", an employer couldn't argue it never meant to dismiss her, the Fair Work Commission has found.

River Murray and Mallee Aboriginal Corporation was objecting to the project officer's unfair dismissal application, claiming it hadn't sacked her.

The Commission heard the employee failed to attend work on 3 June this year, and didn't contact the employer until the following day, to say she would miss an important meeting...
