Employer entitled to transfer "socially inept" worker 350km away

An employer was entitled to transfer a "socially inept" employee to a different workplace 350km away after finding he bullied a female colleague, the Fair Work Commission has ruled.

The advanced life support paramedic lodged a dispute with the FWC after Ambulance Victoria decided to discipline him for serious misconduct.

The Commission heard that in July 2022, an external investigator either substantiated or partly substantiated five allegations against the employee, including that he frequently ignored a female colleague's greetings, didn't talk to or "exchange pleasantries" with her, didn't acknowledge her work, and "belittled her contributions"...
