Some major themes are developing in the enterprise bargaining space, with serious implications for a growing number of employers, new data shows.
According to the Federal Government's latest trends in federal enterprise bargaining report, the average annualised wage increase (AAWI) in newly approved agreements was 3.7% at the end of the December quarter.
Although down from 4.8% a year earlier, this is still above the five-year average of 3.5%, and the ninth consecutive quarter in which wage growth has outpaced inflation, Humanify HR Consulting managing director Sarah Queenan tells HR Daily.
It suggests bargaining outcomes remain solid, but the slight drop could also be an early warning sign of unsustainability...
