Calm leadership is vital for team wellbeing in chaotic times, but it has to be the result of emotional regulation, not suppression, according to a leadership specialist.
This is because suppressing emotions at work is "dangerous and damaging", says communications coach and author Leah Mether.
"What we are seeing is similar to Covid times at the moment, in terms of the scale and pace of change and uncertainty," she tells HR Daily.
"It feels like it's just been dialled up to the extreme. But as I said to a team just this week: The pace of change will never be slower than it is now."
Mether doesn't say this to alarm people, but rather because, "there is a mindset shift here that we actually need to, quite quickly, get our heads around", she explains...
