An HR consultant's communication about a manager's potential redundancy or summary dismissal was "bizarre", the Fair Work Commission has found, in criticising his "astonishingly poor advice" to an employer.
The Companion Systems platform experience manager was sacked in June last year for failing to return a work mobile phone on a specified date and erasing the employer's intellectual property before giving back his work laptop.
He subsequently claimed unfair dismissal, arguing the employer had acted in a "falsely contrived" manner in proposing to make his role redundant and then "opportunistically" dismissing him...
