After overhauling its EVP to enable fast headcount growth, an employer has also significantly improved its workplace culture and gender mix, an HR leader says.
Transgrid's "once in a lifetime growth phase" was prompted by a project that involves building 2,000 kilometres of transmission line through NSW, to facilitate the State's energy transition, says executive GM of people and culture Stephen McSweeney.
The project is now at the halfway mark, and Transgrid's headcount has increased from about 1,000 to more than 2,500 in the past few years, McSweeney tells HR Daily.
All of this has been organic – not via acquisitions – and handled by a team of about 16 talent acquisition, early career and strategic workforce planning specialists, "rolling up the sleeves and recruiting"...
