How emotionally fit leaders support thriving teams

When teams have leaders who inspire and motivate them because they're leading themselves first, "every metric goes up in thriving", wellbeing and resilience specialists say.

"I think it's very fair to say most businesses now have a below-the-line approach to psychological safety and psychosocial safety," Awake Academy co-founder Tess Brouwer tells HR Daily.

"They have the EAPs, they have done yoga and fruit bowls," she says, but if they don't have a chief mental health officer or chief people officer looking after the foundational structure of humans in their workforces, "they're miles behind".
