The involvement of dedicated HR specialists had an "adverse" impact on the procedures an employer followed when sacking a worker, and warranted an order for maximum compensation, the Fair Work Commission has ruled.
Specifically, Guzman Y Gomez treated a casual crew member harshly by cutting all of her shifts with no intention of providing more work, while leading her to believe she remained employed, Deputy President Tony Slevin found.
He heard the employee worked on a regular and systematic basis from 6 February 2023 until 20 July 2024.
