"Intimidating" worker couldn't salvage employment relationship after misconduct

An employee whose attitude and conduct "crossed a line" after his colleague's workplace treatment has failed to prove he was unfairly sacked.

In January this year, PumpEng accused the group technical support employee of breaching its code of conduct, policies and procedures when he:

  • threatened a manager by saying he would "go after" him;
  • said he'd "throw the full force" of his family against the managing director;
  • told a colleague he'd go to Perth to beat up the general manager; and
  • regularly consumed alcohol on site.
