Job LARPing and "resenteeism" offer new HR concerns

The prospect of employee turnover that's too low is something "very few organisations have had to even think about", but concern appears to be growing among employers, an HR advisory leader says.

Gartner HR practice vice president Aaron McEwan, who heads up a team tasked with identifying workplace trends as they emerge, says he noticed multiple clients "getting kind of worried" about low levels of attrition early this year.

"We started to dig around, and what we saw was happening was employees' 'intent to stay' was trending up quite significantly."

According to Gartner's global talent monitor, intent to stay was at 41% in November, then declined slightly, but "jacked right back up again in the first quarter of this year", McEwan says...
