Anxiety about AI is triggering reactive responses that could potentially have "devastating and far-reaching" consequences for employers, a leadership specialist warns.
During a recent workshop with 60 senior leaders, it emerged that most were "more anxious than optimistic" about AI, The Change Company director Paul Donovan tells HR Daily.
This is concerning, Donovan says, because he often hears leaders complaining that their business needs to adapt, "but the people aren't ready".
"Apart from sounding patronising, what that suggests is that the leaders have simply not acknowledged with their people that AI presents as potentially threatening. That goes undiscussed."
