Manager who ran a "tight ship" fairly sacked for bullying

It was fair to sack a manager who engaged in excessive criticism of staff, to the point of bullying and harassment, the Fair Work Commission has ruled.

The manager argued her style could simply be interpreted as "overly direct", but Commissioner Adam Walkaden rejected that as a "generous and sanitised description".

The sales and service operations manager for not-for-profit MSWA Limited was sacked in November last year.
