Multiple misconduct incidents warranted "at most, a final warning": FWC

An employee who breached a workplace policy, ignored a direction and then unilaterally left a disciplinary meeting was unfairly dismissed, the Fair Work Commission has found.

Even when considered in totality, her misconduct warranted "at most, a final warning", Deputy President Gerard Boyce said.

The Northcott Society disability support worker was dismissed in September 2024 for alleged misconduct, but she claimed there was no valid reason for her termination, and that she was sacked for being "vocal" about her workplace concerns.
