Psychosocial safety frameworks needn't be original, but must be tailored

Employers needn't "start from scratch" when it comes to managing psychosocial health, but must tailor their approach to their particular business risks, says a CPO who oversaw development of an award-winning framework.

The Perth Mint was a joint winner of the 2024 WHS Psychosocial Health Award, and it spent 18 months developing and implementing its approach, according to chief people and reputation officer Edwina Dwyer.

The employer already had a strong focus on physical safety, but the P&C team wasn't heavily involved in that space, she says.
