It was reasonable for an employer to refuse a flexible work request from an employee fleeing family and domestic violence, the Fair Work Commission has ruled.
Commissioner Damian Sloan noted that the employee was entitled to request the arrangement, and to feel aggrieved that it was rejected. But in light of the unavailability of remote work, he accepted the employer had reasonable business grounds for its refusal.
