A role that maintained an employee's salary and seniority was an "acceptable" redeployment offer, even if she viewed it as a "step backwards" in her career, the Fair Work Commission has found.
The role offered was not demeaning, nor likely to be seen by others as "beneath her", Commissioner Nicholas Wilson accepted.
National Positive Behaviour Support had applied to reduce the employee's redundancy pay to zero, on the basis it had obtained "other acceptable employment" for her under section 120 of the Fair Work Act.
The employee disagreed, arguing she was entitled to four weeks' pay...
