"Rude", "offensive" and "insensitive" manager was fairly sacked

It was fair to dismiss a manager who made disrespectful comments to and about her colleagues, using terms that included "bitch", "lazy" and "pit bull", the Fair Work Commission has found.

Deputy President Alan Colman noted that "it is not acceptable for a manager to use derogatory language about a worker to other employees, particularly in a store environment where others, including customers, might hear this".

St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria Ltd dismissed the shop manager in October 2024 for behaving inappropriately, but she claimed this was unfair, maintaining she had done nothing wrong and was the target of a "witch hunt"...
