An employer that wanted to go beyond a "poster on the wall" with its leadership values now has major buy-in to its 360 feedback program, and higher employee satisfaction scores across the board.
In 2021, when the now ASX-listed Endeavour Group demerged from Woolworths to become the world's largest liquor and hospitality retailer, it faced the challenge of developing its own identity and set of leadership values.
At the time, says Trevor Hotten, Endeavour Group's senior capability partner, "we had basically nothing".
"So there was no leadership programs, there was no leadership training, certainly no frameworks... That's the big challenge of any company that demerges from another company, you have to stand up your own identity and who you are."
