Dismissing a supervisor because she failed to include any "emotions" in her group texts was unfair, the Fair Work Commission has ruled in awarding her three months' compensation.
The Sens Catering Group supervisor told Commissioner Chris Simpson that late last year she sent a group text to managers about the "ongoing problem" of Sens Café staff being pulled to work at another venue, which left the former understaffed.
A co-worker later warned her the owner's ex-wife – who had been brought into the business to replace the previous general manager – had not taken kindly to the supervisor's text. The supervisor said this came as a surprise as she hadn't intended to cause conflict...
