Workplaces lack the leaders employees "yearn for" partly because those with noble goals don't pursue promotions, but HR can foster change by reframing power and leadership, an executive coach says.
The power that comes with leadership should be a resource for achieving positive change in the workplace, according to The Change Company director Paul Donovan.
The problem is that the employees with the greatest leadership potential are often those who pull back from positions of power in fear, while those who want power for power's sake tend to pursue it.
