Negative feedback has many problems, but even positive feedback can backfire, according to a leadership specialist who says too much of the latter can have "diminishing returns".
Feedback can be positive or negative, helpful or unhelpful, and dirty or clean, according to Louise Gilbert.
But in her new book, Make Work Work For You, she says good feedback comes down to "Four Cs": it is clear, contextual, circular and clean.
