Top leaders prioritise removing obstacles for others

Removing roadblocks for other people should be a key focus for leaders, according to an advisor who calls on leaders to embrace the "service" element of their role.

In her book The Heart-Centred Leader, management consultant and experienced executive Jane Phipps says the future belongs to leaders who listen, and who seek to lift up and empower others.

She says there are five key elements to successful leadership: transparency, trust, respect, genuineness, and vulnerability.
