What laggard, average, and 'leading edge' looks like for AI use in HR

There's a big difference between leading-edge and laggard HR teams when it comes to AI adoption, but many practitioners might be pleasantly surprised by where they sit on the spectrum, an expert says.

ELMO partner and Inventium founder Amantha Imber, who speaks to numerous HR leaders from a range of organisations and industries every week, gets the impression almost all of them are sheepish about their level of AI maturity.

"They say, 'Oh, we're right at the beginning of our journey,' and 'Our people are not using AI regularly'," she tells HR Daily, but the reality is, a lot of people are still really close to the beginning of their journey with AI.

"Capability is very mixed," she adds. "Some people are using it a lot, some people are barely touching it..."
