Why storytelling is one of the "most powerful" leadership skills

So much information is "beamed" at employees every day that it can be easy for them to switch off; but by communicating less like robots and more like humans, leaders can harness attention and build engagement, a communications expert says.

Leaders can start by asking what emotion, as well as what information, they most want to convey before a speech, says broadcaster Christian O'Connell.

"What is this [speech] about?" he says. "Is it about recovery? Is it about optimism?

"And then think about your own life," he tells HR Daily...
