Why the solution to survey fatigue isn't fewer surveys

The solution to "survey fatigue" isn't fewer surveys, but rather ensuring surveys are relevant, and convincing employees their feedback will be heard and acted on, an EX scientist says.

When asked about the problem of survey fatigue, during a presentation this week on effective employee listening, Qualtrics senior EX scientist Dr Matt Neale said the problem is less about the number of surveys employees are asked to do, than whether they think it's worthwhile participating.

"My perspective on survey fatigue is that if I get sent an invitation to do a survey and don't know who's asking me to do that survey, I don't know why they're asking me to do that survey, I don't know what they're going to do with my feedback, and the questions that they're asking don't seem relevant to me, then yeah, I've got survey fatigue. I've got survey fatigue after one invitation," he said...
